The best meditation for anxiety is one which fills you with peace and serenity. Anxiety is often nothing else than future fear or fear of the unknown.

One of the best ways to beat anxiety is to become mindful and conscious of this present moment.

You need to become consciously aware of your personal power, which actually never leaves your side. You might have just forgotten momentarily about it.

I recorded this video when I was out with my family. Before that moment I was feeling really down - afraid, angry and aggressive.

As we walked deeper into this beautiful valley I became really aware of the sheer beauty and energy surrounding me.

This is what you need to do as well - go out into the nature and fill yourself up to the rim with life and energy which nature so readily shares with us. Become aware of what is surrounding you and consciously choose to look at the world in search to see the good.

When anxiety creeps up I recommend you to take following steps:

  • Stop a minute and become mindful of what you feel anxious about and why. Often the simple identification of the problem makes anxiety diminish. 
  • Talk with a good friend about the problem. Twist it and turn it until you have seen the problem from different angles. If you reach a point where the problem does not seem so threatening or you can even laugh about, you have come a long way.
  • Turn your awareness to the positive in the situation.
  • Attend a course for meditation, relaxation or stress relief. First, the instructor will want to help you and second, you will meet people who are going through similar problems as you are.
  • Get professional help. If you have no one to talk to, book a time with a councellor or psychologist. These people have made it their profession to help people in need.
  • And, last but not least, find an exercise you like doing: Walking, running, swimming, ice skating, Zumba, aerobics, team sports, yoga, Pilates. Any sport that you like doing is a good sport for you.
    Do something at least five times per week. Exercise helps you produce happy hormones in your brain.
